Ridecell Fleet Ops

In the topsy-turvy world of 2020, especially for the shared mobility industry, we’re excited to share some good news! We’ve been named Fleet Management Solution of the Year in the AutoTech Breakthrough Awards, recognized for our industry-first Ridecell Fleet Ops, the platform technology that automates workflows to keep shared fleets in peak condition.

First introduced in September 2019, Fleet Ops was quickly embraced by fleet operators for its ability to collapse vehicle service time from hours to minutes, using its ability to intelligently automate service workflow and dispatch appropriate labor teams. The platform is interoperable with any shared mobility service and helps car- and ride-sharing services maximize operational efficiencies.

Since the COVID-19 pandemic, shared mobility operators have realized the stark reality of having to make economic sense in order to thrive. In a recent survey, 22% of respondents said they used public transport or ridesharing prior to COVID-19. Today, those numbers have dropped to 9%. Customers are filling the gap with a preference for carsharing and car subscriptions—quadrupling interest in those services from 5% pre-COVID to 20% now.

These numbers show the value for fleet operators in ensuring carsharing and subscription options are available to their customers. To date, however, current services have relied too heavily on manual processes and patchworked systems to maintain fleets, which can take days to clean, refuel, or repair a vehicle. In our current landscape, influenced by the pandemic and lockdown, that kind of turnaround time is unacceptable. Ridecell Fleet Ops takes advantage of machine learning and data modeling to automate fleet tasks and labor management, speeding service time from hours to minutes and helping fleet operators get their cars to the end-user when and where they are needed.

Over 1,250 companies were nominated this year from all over the world, and we’re proud that Ridecell Fleet Ops stood out from the competition for its ability to help fleet owners ensure cars are always available to meet demand in the right place at the right time, and that customers can access a safe, clean vehicle ready to go when they are.
