<h2><span style="font-weight: 400;">Responsibilities</span></h2>
<ul>
<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Research existing models of human driving, pedestrian motion and social interaction.</span></li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Collect and analyze traffic data from fleets of vehicles and road infrastructure.</span></li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Detect and track traffic participants in sensor data; correlate tracks with map data.</span></li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Decompose long-term activity into meaningful states and atomic actions.</span></li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Develop models of traffic behavior, fit them to observed data and predict future actions.</span></li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Apply advanced deep learning models and algorithms to capture complex behavior.</span></li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Implement operational models to reproduce learned behavior in simulation.</span></li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Work closely with scenario modeling, prediction and planning initiatives.</span></li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Disseminate traffic modeling results through talks, workshops, and conference papers.</span></li>

<h2><span style="font-weight: 400;">Requirements</span></h2>
<ul>
<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Masters or PhD in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, or a related field.</span></li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">5+ years research experience modeling real-world phenomena using a combination of mathematical abstractions, probability distributions and/or logical formalisms.</span></li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Proficiency in data analysis, data visualization, model definition and model fitting.</span></li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Proficiency in using numeric and scientific computing tools and libraries.</span></li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Experience with modeling temporal data such as time series, streams and events.</span></li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Experience with modeling macroscopic traffic behavior.</span></li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Experience with modeling microscopic vehicle or pedestrian motion.</span></li>
